Brief Introduction
Yiran Liu obtained her PhD degree from Politecnico di Milano and is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, Nanjing University. She was awarded a doctoral scholarship funded by the China Scholarship Council, and completed her PhD with the highest honor (Dottorato di Ricerca con lode). She also serves as a member of the Leadership Team of the Emerging Professionals of CIPA (International Committee of Architectural Photogrammetry) Heritage Documentation.
Her research focuses on historic urban studies and urban heritage conservation, with particular emphasis on the cognition and interpretation of historic urban space, based on urban research method of Italian Milanese School - “Layered Morphology”, and narrative framework. Besides, she also explores the application of digital tools in the field of urban heritage conservation.
